I'm happy and proud to have two pieces excepted into this wonderful world class museum.

Today I entered 6 pieces into the Ohio State Fair competition . I will find out the results in June.
Last year I was happy to sell my work during the exhibition.
One of the six that I entered. This is titled "Illuminated" and is a 15x30 oil painting
Artist: Carolyn Heffelfinger
Medium: Oil:
Size: 20"x24"
Price: $
This painting was done for a competition held by the Ohio Plein Air Society. It was a pretty cool idea. The competition took place over a year with the object being to paint an Ohio prairie. (yes, there are prairies in Ohio) Artists were asked to paint during the year 2014 depicting all seasons and prairies throughout the state. At the end of the year the paintings were judged and those picked were exhibited in The Springfield Museum of Art. The exhibit titled " Painting the Prairies" was to help educate the public about the conservation of these small islands of original prairie grassed in the state.
I had two paintings excepted to hang in the museum "Thistles" being one.
Before starting today I must clean the 1 inch of sludge out of my brush cleaner can.
I'm going to be working back into the large painting I started in SC and am excited to take the design farther.
I see a spot asking for a tree.
What I painted while in Folly Beach

I should be edging gardens.

We spent 6 weeks in Folly SC. In January and February. The weather was unseasonably warm
which was such a pleasure. I walked the beach daily with Izzy. I miss the ocean.
i converted the extra bedroom into my studio and worked on four paintings while there.
These grasses are on a trail around the Delaware Dam.
A commission for the Sunbury Historical Society.
I call the above 8"x10" painting "Sunset Cruise".
The geese seem to stretch their wings at sunset before they tuck in for the night.
The sun competes with the Burger King sign by the highway interchange .
Meeting another Golden is always fun!
We have been spending time in Mazatlan for about seven years and feel so fortunate to be here again especially in November.
i love the people and the gracious friendly look at life.
I brought a few small boards to paint in the early mornings. We are on a two hour time difference which means watching the sunrise and the sun setting over the Sea of Cortez at 5:30pm
I finished this 9"x12 " this morning after 3 days. This painting was titled because of the apparent heavy snow during the night. It blew so hard the snow stuck to the side of the trees and the sunrise lit up the snow spectacularly.
This year I'm honored to be the featured artist at Delaware's beautiful historic Arts Castle. It is very well done all dressed up for the holidays !
My boxer painting will be on display at Dick Blick's the month of October with fellow artists who participated in the Art at the Arnold .
The Arnold Swartzinnager Classic is held yearly in Columbus and a number artists are invited to paint the live model during the week long event.
This boxer was an excellent model and a perfect specimen.
This is an 8"x10" oil of a rushing creek.
I had the privilege to be invited to donate a painting for this wonderful organization at their biannual fund raiser. My painting sold at the live auction held at The Columbus Museum of Art. The piece was sold for $5,500.
i was so excited!
This was an elegant event.
Deep
"Headlights"
Unfortunately photographing this painting has been difficult because of its dark subject matter but the original looks pretty good.
i was driving home on a back road when this cool lightening storm was stirring up!
I've been painting regularly and preparing for upcoming shows. I have a group show at the McConnell Center in Worthington beginning in October. These are my favorite buds in my art group. A most talented pack. The show is called "Friends".
I will have five pieces exhibited.
This is a very fine show with a contemporary flair!
I've been hefting my pack for my annual trip with my daughter and our three outdoor enthusiasts Ronni, Michelle and Cheryl.
The adventure begins on Saturday.
The photo is from two years ago from our trip to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. We packed on the North Country Trail. The weather was cool and damp with bugs as an added attraction. We love these trips. Truly.
Saturday we leave for Cumberland Gap and Martins Fork. We have some strenuous rated trails and we are ready to be in the woods and even more the mountains.
